My Unique Approach

I offer an integrated and personalized approach to therapy which prioritizes empathy, compassion, and non-judgement. This paves the way for genuine connection and trust, which are necessary components for deeper conversations to happen.

At In Balance Health Counselling your unique situation and individual strengths are honored as part of the counselling process. I work as your guide to uncovering your strengths and personal path for healing  and change. 

 

My guiding mission as a counselor is to help you restore the relationship with yourself. Growth and change are facilitated through knowledge of one’s self. The question can be asked… If you don’t know yourself, how will you know what is important to you, or what is needed in order to heal?”

How does a person improve their connection to self?

This can be done through guided reflection of one’s body language, emotions, use of words, thought patterns, and areas of resistance in the body. Better connection to the various aspects of yourself develops better self-awareness and insight into your patterns and solutions.

My training combines body-focused (somatic) techniques as well as traditional talk therapy, which is helpful because many mental health problems are not isolated to troubles of the mind; we feel many of the symptoms in our physical bodies and therefore techniques for regulating the body’s symptoms are strongly beneficial in therapy.
